Good designs take time and skill. We always start off our design process with a quick consult to see if we’re right for each other and from there, we get started. You’ll sign our contract and then we send you a LENGTHY questionnaire so we can delve deep into your mind and bring your vision to life!
Discussions and meetings happen throughout this (even via zoom if needed) and then after a few weeks, we present you with a drawing and a preliminary plan of what we think matches your vision and brings in our expertise. Once you’ve signed off on that, then the fun begins.

If we don’t have a plan, then items can be mis-purchased, mistakes can be made and overall, money is spent for no reason. We can create something grand but if you’re budget conscious (who isn’t?) then we want to make sure we aim for that number.

When can we get started?

How do I know if I will like the end result?
We spend a lot of time in the beginning of a project, getting to know you, your family, your space and how you want that space to function. You will have to do some homework in the form of a questionnaire that we send that gives us some insight to your vision, wants and needs. We use this information to help draft some concepts and throughout the project, you get final say and sign-offs as we go. This method helps ensure we get as close to your wishes as we can.
How much will my project cost?
The overall project cost is dependent upon your budget and your vision. Time also plays a factor and if you’re clear on what you want and if you trust your design team than costs can stay relatively low. When all is said and done, we can actually save you money. We do this by anticipating issues before they happen, working with trusted and skilled tradespeople and by having industry connections. So I have to pay for the design first?
Yes. For custom hardscapes, landscape renovations and lighting projects, we do require a design to work from. Our in-house designer has been trained in designing for outdoor living and while we’d love to give the design portion away, we just can’t.
The cost of the design fee ranges based on the property size and your vision, but as a guideline, you can expect to pay somewhere between 1500-2500.
Can I get you to design something and then DIY it?
You absolutely can, but generally speaking you probably don’t have the time to actually do it to the vision that is in your head. We have a vast network of skilled tradespeople that assist us on our projects to bring all aspects of the project together at the same time. We get to know exactly the vision that is in your head and exactly how your family is going to use the space and because we do this all the time, we can anticipate problems and solutions that you may not even know of.
If you know for a fact that you want to do it by yourself, then you can certainly hire us to create a set of drawings, renderings and plans for you to follow – again, like a great roadmap.
Do I have to sign a contract?
For this type of project? Yes, we ask that you sign a contract. Our contracts are put in place to protect all parties from loss and liability – and in this case, our Insurance company is a bit of a stickler with this one 😉
What payment methods do you accept?
Custom Hardscaping, Water Features, Lighting and more complex Landscaping work will be estimated in advance and invoiced according to our job contract.
When you sign an agreement with us, we ask you to keep a credit card on file through our client care portal. We do not see your card information in any capacity, nor do we pre-authorize or put a hold on your card in any form.
